Many of you have, no doubt, wondered how you can possibly find the time to do the research needed to make an informed choice about the options that are before us for the next president of the United states. I have come up with a possible solution.
Your candidate must share your views in regards to how the country moves forward. So why not start there. Presidential policies fall into 3 general categories. Domestic: which deals with individuals and citizens who are living within our borders. Foreign: which deals with our interactions with other countries around the world. Economic: which deals with economic issues within the country.
Choose 3 policies for each of these categories that you would like to see changed or put in place. That is the hard part.
Now for the research. This is actually easier than you may think. Each candidate has a "to do list" for their stay in office. Just compare that "to do list" with your own. Score each candidate a point for each item in their "to do list" that matches yours. Give bonus points if you agree with how they would like to go about accomplishing their goals.
Some candidates may not be very clear or concise when describing their goals or approaches. In this case you will need to go to other sources for the information you need. I find that a simple Google search of "candidates name _________ policy" will do the trick after a few links.
I believe that using this method we can all educate ourselves enough to make an informed decision in an hour or two.
Thanks for indulging me and remember to vote your conscience. Happy hunting.
